Simply put, a Tantrika is one who practices Tantra. Given the fact that there are a variety of styles of Tantra, this statement can cover a wide range of individuals. Depending on the variety studied, practice may or may not be involved. When kundalini cultivation is a central aim of tantra as it is in the Ipsalu school, then practitioners may properly be called Tantrikas. There are also those who pay lip service to Hindu deities without bringing self-discipline and practice to sex. Although such people may claim to be Tantric, they are not properly referred to as Tantrikas since there is no practice involved.
